An autoimmune disease or condition is where the immune system malfunctions and mistakenly attacks healthy cells, tissues and organs.
Hence, as an autoimmune disease, these attacks can affect any part of the body, weakening bodily function and even become life-threatening.
Emotions and feelings have an electrical charge (eg. volts of energy), that over a long term period (eg. months and years), can create disorder in the body's immune system and its tissues and organs. Dependent on the person's genetic code/genetic predisposition, these emotions hold an equivalent energy, vibration and frequency, that can potentially bring discomfort, pain, disease (eg. autoimmune disease) and ultimately a premature death.
The manner, that a person lives their life, specifically how a person thinks, feels and acts; has an energy equivalent onto themselves and their immediate environment.
The Autoimmune Psychologist focuses primarily on the emotions and feelings explicitly expressed and 'stored' within the body, that can on a long-term basis affect one's psychological and emotional well-being, that can then subsequently negatively influence a person's physiological bodily state (that can include adversely affect their immune system), which can lead to disorder and disease.
I am a Licensed and Accredited BPS Psychologist and hold a MSc. in Psychology and Counselling (including being an AIP Certified) and have completed extensive training in a variety of evidence-based therapies, including nutrition (eg. FDN and AIP), functional medicine, exercise, genomics and mind-heart connection.
An autoimmune disease or condition can be genetically linked.
Many other factors, are considered, that are outside or external to the body: environmental factors, such as emotional well being, life stressors, nutrition, toxicity, mould and having a support network.
Each person and their respective autoimmune disease has to be dealt with in a unique and bespoke manner.
After a thorough review and history, recommendations can be put forward, that can include adding or removing certain foods.
Foods, vitamins, minerals, supplements can be suggested, when relevant.
However, medication or any type of drug can only be prescribed by a general practitioner (GP), medical doctor (MD) or medical professional and is not provided through this service.
AIP (The Autoimmune Protocol) is an anti-inflammatory gut-healing food plan and lifestyle protocol for those who have an autoimmune disease. AIP is a process, that includes exercise, rest and the reduction of stress (during the healing process).
Initially, certain foods are eliminated and then carefully re-introduced and monitored, after an initial strict elimination food plan, to clear and cleanse the body.
Results are highly influenced, on the client's commitment and openness, to help themselves and to be willing to take on the advice/support from the professional.
An immediate and noticeable outcome can occur within days, of changing their mindset and lifestyle habits (including nutrition).
